How we deliver

The ship repair workflow, from quotation to handover

  1. Technician inspection and quotation

    The vessel is inspected and a quotation submitted.

  2. Award of work

    LPO issued; the defect list is prepared and submitted.

  3. Pre-slipping meeting and upslip

    The vessel is brought up the slipway on the GEWSB trailer and winch.

  4. Repair works and progress meetings

    Works carried out by our engineers, welders, supervisors and technicians, with progress meetings throughout.

  5. Downslip and sea or harbour trial

    The vessel is returned to the water and trialled.

  6. Certificate of job done and handover

    Handed over with warranty on the works done.

A shipyard and slipway at Bintawa Industrial Estate, Kuching, and a 2,675 square metre workshop at Mile 8, Sandakan, Sabah. Forty-seven staff: engineers, welders, project managers, supervisors and technicians, many with 10 to 20 years' experience, under a registered Safety and Health Officer.

Globalship Engineering & Welding Sdn. Bhd. (GEWSB) is a 100% Bumiputera-owned company, first formed and registered on 11 March 1997 to carry out specialised maintenance works for government and commercial vessels.

GEWSB is also a Grade G7 engineering and construction company. Its resources cover five business domains: construction and engineering works, infrastructure works, ship repair and maintenance, property development, and supply and services.
